I snagged some Zen Yarn Garden Merino Tencel in the color Purly Gates
and I’m going to knit up a pair of stocks in a waffle rib pattern. At least that’s the plan.
I’ve also decided that I want to knit the Flower Basket Shawl. I couldn’t decide what yarn to use. I was thinking of all the cool handpainted and kettle dyed lace yarns but then I went to a more traditional choice.
I snagged some Misti Lace out of the shop in the color Moss Melange and I’m going to use this for the shawl. I’m headin’ off to cast on the socks tonight. I hope to get a start on the shawl this weekend.
Other plans?
I have formed a recent obsession with the Lotus Blossom Tank ( or as the girls from Stash and Burn call it…. The Alien Head Tank). I’ve known all along that I had no interest in knitting it in the SWTC Bamboo but I didn’t know what yarn I wanted to use. Plus, there’s something about that tank and that photo that has always bothered me. It. Doesn’t. Fit.
Thanks to Ravelry I’ve viewed and read about the adventures others have had while making this tank. I’ve decided that I like a lot of the shaping modifications that some of have done. I like the fact that someone wrote about how they had made the stockinette portion come down lower thus fitting a person such as myself who actually has the figure of a person who has….
Yo-Yo dieted
Had a baby
Breast fed
Closing in on 40
And has had no plastic surgery to date
(get my point???!!!???)
Finally, I agreed with many others that this tank is too short and must be made longer.
So, you’d think I’d be ready to go.
NOPE.
I can’t get past that neckline. It looks uncomfortable and I don’t want my arms hanging out. I want sleeves. And a different neckline.
In otherwords…. I’m on hold. Still thinking. Doing a little knitting math here and a little knitting math there. (Can you say "not fun"?).
So, it appears that LBT will stay on the obsession list for a little while longer. It just isn’t destined to be on the On the Needles list just yet.
Toodles, Y’all!
You know bloglines pick up your last FIVE posts just today
I made the LBT and I gotta tell you when I have worn it, it was a constant struggle to keep the bra straps in check! It is a pretty knit tho.
