Remember that garage sale? Where we sold off much of the Pack Rat’s things, some of my things and all of those things that we saved thinking we may have another baby? (Haven’t given up on that idea but decided that it was cheaper to buy them again if needed than it was to move them.)

Anyway…. made a good amount of money at the garage sale (enough for a flat screen t.v. and still have half the money left over!).  We took a ton of stuff to Goodwill and a load or two (maybe three) to the dump as well.

The verdict?

Well, the moving estimator man came back yesterday and I managed to get rid of 6000 lbs of stuff.  (Nope, not kidding.  They had us at 15,000 lbs and now were at 9,000).  That equals about 5 grand coming off of our moving expenses in addition to making it easier to find a new house (no longer need a house with a huge attic). 

I had hoped to get rid of 50% of the stuff in the attic.  When it was all said and done, I think we got rid of nearly 80% of the attic, maybe more. 

If only dieting was this easy!
