Saturday, April 14 is World Grits Day. And, once again, Katie and I are hosting Grits and Sticks. This year… prizes! Whoot.
So here’s the rules….
Get yourself some grits and your knitting.
Take a photo of your grits and knitting. Consider it a Southern still life.
Post your photo on your blog.
Send one of us an email letting us know that your entry is up.
Then what?
First, I’ll link to your entry on this blog.
Then Katie and I will determine the winners.
What are the categories and prizes?
Best in Show:
This is for the most creative entry, be it funny, serious, whatever. Just the most creative entry.
The Prize?
Receives 2 skeins of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock yarn and a Lantern Moon Sheep tape measure. The color of the sock yarn can be chosen by the winner from the colors we have in the shop.
Door Prize:
All entries will be put in the hat for the "door prize". Each will be assigned a number and then chosen via the ol’ random number generator.
The Prize?
2 skeins/balls Misti Alpaca Lace. You can choose which color you’d like from those in the shop.
What if I don’t have grits, hate grits, etc?
First of all, you couldn’t possibly hate grits. Really. They are a non-hate food. I promise. Try ’em with some butter and salt. Really. They’re great.
Second, see the word "creative" in the Best in Show category. You could use actual grits, Girls Raised In The South grits, whatever. Feel free to be creative.
So that covers it. Get out there, get your grits, your sticks and lets see those photos!
I am SO IN!!! I’ve been waiting a whole year for this! I don’t need/want any yarn but I will be grittin’, knittin’ and pic’n on Saturday!!!
My photo is up today! We were having so much fun Saturday that I almost forgot to take the picture.
