We drove up toward Mount Rainier National Park to see some snow and maybe play a bit in the snow. We were just a few miles out of town when we started seeing snow on the ground. Just a few moments after that we found ourselves driving on icy roads with snow falling all around us. We were heading toward The Dalles campground but that park and trail were closed. We ended up parking near the Skookum Flats trail and playing in the snow along side the White River.
Saturday Sky over White River.
The sky was no less gray/foggy/icky back in Enumclaw. It is a dreary day here in the PNW.
Anna Grace and I on Skookum Flats Trail.
The scarf I am wearing is the Hurricane Scarf. It is the very first thing I ever knitted and it is pretty lame. But its great for playing around outside, etc. I call it the Hurricane Scarf because I knitted it during Hurricane Charley. It is made from that thick chenille like yarn that Lion Brand used to make (or do they still make it?)
Today Anna Grace resisted walking on the snow initially. But once we kinda nudged her she took off. This is a big improvement. Because of her sensory issues and motor planning issues, walking on ice and snow was something she just wasn’t interested in. Matter of fact, she was afraid of it. Not any more. Not in the slightest!!!
Yay, Anna Grace…this young woman seems to know what’s important in life: throwing stones, walking in the snow.
FYI: I am not sure about the chenille, but am convinced that the reason it seems as though it iasts forever is that neither man nor machine can get that darn stuff to unravel…
I love hearing about ever inch of AG’s strides forward! You go Anna Grace!
