Where Have I Been?

Nowhere!

I have been under the weather for a few days.  A little sniffle turned into an ugly sinus thing with a great big headache.  So my activities over the past few days have been limited to taking AG back and forth to therapy, etc and then attempting to lie down as much as I can (which is actually very little).  When my head attempted to explode last night, thus keeping me awake, I decided to head over to Multicare today.  I still have an exploding head but I now have drugs that promise to make it all go away.

Until today I hadn’t even tried knitting.  Thinking made my head throb.  Today however I did pick up the needles and I’m working on one of Telemark’s sleeves.  I think I may run out of yarn be we already knew that didn’t we?

Tomorrow we head for NYC.  Exploding head + airplane ride = this should be fun.  Hah!  We get back on Wednesday night.  Unlike other little trips we’ve taken, this time I’ll have internet access.  Woo Hoo.

In a moment of weakness (or insanity) I joined a knit -a- long.  It is my first real KAL.  I did do the Amazing Lace but we were all doing different things.  Debi and her friend Agnes are hosting the Forest Path Stole KAL.   Here’s the button…..

The insane part? I’ve only knitted one lace item and it didn’t exactly go smoothy AND I’ve never done entrelac in my life. Yep.  You read that right.  Lace and entrelac in the same pattern.  This will either be a whole lot of fun or a whole lot of torture.

I haven’t decided on which yarn to use yet but it will be something from my stash.

In other news, my stepfather is essentially the same.  He is a bit more alert and at times attempts to speak.  His speech is 100% unintelligible but he seems unaware of that because he’s highly ticked off that my mother doesn’t understand what he is saying and that she isn’t obeying his instructions.

He did have a set back earlier this week but seems to be moving forward again.  To me, things are still just "touch and go".    I think he will likely leave the hospital in a few weeks but I am not confident that mentally he will totally rebound from this whole thing.

Well, must go.  Must have a little lie down.

Toodles!

  1. Sooo happy!! :)

I’ve been swatching and it’s easy lace, also easy to see if you’ve messed up before you get too far – and the entrelac is so simple, you’ll love it!

    Feel better hunny!

  2. So sorry to hear you’re under the weather again – you’ve really been hit hard this year with our Pacific Northwest bugs! I’m excited to hear that you’ve joined the FPL KAL – so have I! We have got to get together sometime and compare notes on this. Now we just need to talk Lorette into it! Have a great and productive trip to NYC.

  3. this is my first entrelac project and I don’t think that I would had started it, if Debi and Agnes weren’t hosting it. I think that we’ll all be fine since I can’t think of too many people that have done lace entrelac before.

hope that you get well soon, enjoy NY and most of all, stepfather gets better soon. It’s never easy when family get sick and live a distance away.

  4. Gosh, that headache better leave! Have a safe trip. Way to go joining the KAL…you can do it! (of course that is coming from a person that has never joined!) Look forward to seeing your work. Peace be with you on your trip!
