Taking Advantage of the Situation

Today when I woke up I realized that I had even less of a voice than I did yesterday.  I didn’t think that was possible.  Anyway, I could basically whisper and I felt like I was screaming just to make that much of a noise.

Thankfully, Dana took the day off of work and he watched AG while I got some rest, etc.  I’m thankful not just for the helping hand.  You see, it took my child less than 2 minutes to figure out that my abilities to tell her no, etc were greatly impaired.  Dana left the room, she started jumping on the couch.  I said no (as best I could), she laughed, then she covered her ears and continued to jump.  I tried to grab her but she’s a bit quicker than I am.  Dana had to come and get her.  So, I’m thankful that someone was here to police my child’s actions since my abilities were shotty at best.

Tomorrow she’s going to have a bad day.  My voice is returning just a bit and mama’s gettin’ her mojo back.  Anna Grace isn’t going to be pleased.

  1. Oh dear. Hope you’re better soon. I remember once when I lost my voice and the boys were doing something intolerable (can’t recall what), I had to resort to shaking my car keys at them.
Those are the days when the tv comes on early and stays on all day.

  2. Aren’t kids amazing with that ability to suddenly know that they can briefly get away with more?? I have a soon to be seven year old boy just like AG!
