Here’s some more vacation photos….
Laddercreek Falls: New Halem, Washington
These falls are on private property but the public is allowed to go look. They are "owned" by an old power plant that supplies power to Seattle. The entire town of New Halem seems to consist of just the power plant and the folks that work there. A man who owned the plant in the 40’s or so set up a park and gardens around the falls. It’s being re-done right now but at night he even put in colored lighting to illuminate the falls.
Nooksack Falls: Glacier, Washington (Mount Baker Scenic Highway)
Nooksack Falls are easily accessed and they are on the north fork of the Nooksack River. I couldn’t get a full picture of the complete plunge. They have the viewing area fenced off a bit back from the edge. There were so many signs warning of your imminent demise if you got too close that it gave the definite impression that they’ve had some accidents in this area. The falls were gorgeous. Anna Grace had a lot of fun here. The falls are quite loud and there were rocks to climb on… what more could a toddler want?
