You may recall that I became a little fixated on a certain sweater pattern that the Knitpicks fairies sent to my email account (evil little things).  Well, I caved and I ordered it all.  The pattern, the yarn and the handy dandy little knitpicks chart holder (oh my!).

Here’s the sweater pattern.  The yarn?

As you can see I had some difficulty getting Lily to mind her own business.  Anyway…. I’m making the sweater from Telemark yarn from Knitpicks (that I keep accidently calling Telluride) in the colors Grey Wolf and Cream as the main colors of the body and Colonial Blue for the accent on the collar.

Here we have an action shot of the knitpicks chart keeper… the most underpriced knitting tool in the universe. I am totally and completely in love with this thing.  It is just ten bucks… it should be fifty.  This thing works a hundred times better than the one I was using (also known as that metal-useless-pain-in-the-behind-chart-messer-upper!). If you don’t currently own the knitpicks chart keeper you must order one now.  It will transform your life.

Well, the suitcases are essentially packed and we are enroute to the northern Cascade Mountains tomorrow.  We’ll be visiting Leavenworth, the Lake Chelan valley and even staying near the largest brush fire in the U.S. in Winthrop (oops!).  I will hopefully have some internet access during our little adventure.  We shall see.  Just in case I put some posts in the hopper cause ya know I don’t post for weeks on end when I am home but I gotta make sure I have posts loading when I’m not home (how’s that for a run on sentence!).

  1. Ooooh, It’s going to be gorgeous!

My family took us to a religious retreat of some kind that’s across Lake Chelan when I was small — Holden Village, I believe it’s called. I don’t remember the religious part of it, just the running around a lot and crafting parts. :) And the place was gorgeous, I remember that, too.

Enjoy your trip, and scritches for Miss Lily, too.

  2. Ah – another item to add to my next Knit Picks order – along with the pattern for that gorgeous sweater! Have a great trip. If you get to Cashmere, you have to stop in at the Aplets and Cotlets factory – one of my favorite places in the universe. Someday you’ll have to do the Cascade Loop, which brings you around Leavenworth and Winthrop and then over the Cascades to Whidbey Island.
