San Juan Island: Alpaca Farm

We had a great time visiting San Juan Island this weekend.  Sue  and I were going to try to meet up but  it wasn’t working out on both sides.  Then right before we left we went to eat lunch at a little cafe in town.  As I  am standing outside after we’ve finished eating I look back in and somebody is waving to me.  It was Sue.  We got to visit for a few minutes so that was nice.

Here’s pictures from our trip…

First up: Krystal Acres: the alpaca farm

These alpaca lined along the fence are all boys.  The girls had just entered the field on the other side of this fence.  One of the alpaca boys got so excited he jumped the fence and went into the girl’s field.  Boys!

I behaved myself quite well and limited my purchases to just two itty bitty skeins of Alpaca fiber.  I did visit the yarn shop that is on the island but I left empty handed.  Here’s the alpaca.

  1. I haven’t visited the farm, but bought some of their yarn at the Anacortes yarn shop. It is truly luscious stuff! If you go again and have time to meet in Anacortes before your ferry, let me know. It’s only a half hour from my house.
