Introduce Your Team for The Amazing Lace.
Team Wannabe is ready for competition, world travel and maybe succeeding in completing a lace oriented project. (This would not be the time to discuss our four failed attempts at knitting Branching Out. Nor would it be a good time to review the fact that I dropped out of the Knitting Olympics: Team Lace after only four days of competition. None of these facts need to be discussed!)
On to the introduction…….
Wannabe #1 and #2
Anna Grace is the "I wannabe in the middle of all Momma’s knittin’" team member. Here she is practicing her winding skills with Wannabe#2: Skacel 100% Merino laceweight yarn in a lovely purpley color.
Skacel Merino is spending all of her free time chanting I wannabe lace, I wannabe lace, I wannabe lace.
Wannabe Member #3:
The Coca Cola Company
Because, for the safety of all involved, they wannabe keeping me well supplied in Diet Coke. This would not be the time to mess with the formula (we don’t need any Diet Coke Classic or New Diet Coke). Just keep ’em comin’!
And finally, there’s Wannabe #4
Me. I wannabe a lace knitter, I really do. I’ll be working on the Leaf Lace Shawl by Fiber Trends. A team meeting was held, all wannabe’s came together and this is the result….
So far… this isn’t looking good.
hang in there, all lace looks like a blob until it is blocked!
Lovely waterfall! And, if I can find my Lace Leaf…maybe I will knit along a bit with you…moral support, you know. And drink the occasional diet coke.
Actually, it looks just about normal. Remember that lace looks like crap until you block it! So keep on and we’ll keep up the moral support.
Listen to Dorothy, she knows lace. It’s supposed to look like something the cat dragged around until you block it. Lace knitting takes incredible faith.
And Diet Coke sounds a lot more sensible for lace knitting than my bourbon. Though I maintain that my bourbon is a lot more fun.
Let me guess…next post will have a picture of a waterfalls (just for me 😉
I love the members of your team…you know is there a date on this or am I too late? I fear I would be a lace drop out because I’ve never knitted lace…should I try?
You, mistress of the redneck solution for anything, shall overcome! I have complete faith in you (and Diet Coke!)
I will be keeping close tabs on your progress..I so want to knit a lace shawl but am very intimidated by it! Diet Coke? My DD is a chemical engineer and the company she worked for last semester makes the special coating on the inside of the CocaCola cans to keep the cola from eating through the cans..LOL I’m a Diet Dr. Pepper gal myself.
Go team wannabe! Your little girl is so cute with your ball winder.
