I was reading Lorette’s post the other day and I got inspired.  I’ve always wanted to participate in the show The Amazing Race. Well, that’s a long shot.  However, when I read of a new knitalong called The Amazing Lace I had to join.  This is as close as I’ll probably ever get to doing a detour, a road block or a fast forward.  Here soon I’ll do my first official challenge which will be to introduce you to my team members.  I hope this lace knitalong adventure goes a bit better than my run at The Knitting Olympics.

I headed off to Ben Franklin today in Bonney Lake for a supply run.  Miracle of miracles… the Ben Franklin Crafts in Bonney Lake sells real knitting stuff.  Not just your Red Heart and such (although they have that as well) but they sell addi turbos, Cascade yarn, some alpaca, Opal sock yarn, etc.  Today I bought some Skacel Merino lace weight…. AT BEN FRANKLINS!  Nobody is more shocked than I am that Ben Franklin’s is carrying good knitting stuff.  I wish Michaels and JoAnn’s would catch on and start carrying a better selection.  Hey… a girl can dream!
