We had one of those eerie "the toddler is quiet" moments today.  It was just after lunch and I was doing some housework when I realized that I didn’t hear her and didn’t know where she was.  This is usually bad.  No matter how much you think you want it, in reality, you never want a truly quiet toddler.  It usually means they’re building a bomb, burning down the house or calling Australia.

This time wasn’t so bad.  Somebody was just spending time reading her books.

All of those books were up on her shelves ealier today but she is determined that books should be kept on the floor.  Shelves should be kept empty.  (I’ll teach her children how to empty bookshelves one day… I swear I will!)

It is pretty nice and sunny here.  Its 81 and I have all the windows open.  If the breeze would blow a bit more it would be perfect.  When its still it is riding on the border of being a smidge warm.  The cats are loving it because all the windows are open and they’re all sitting in the window sills pretending to be outdoor cats.

Chloe, Lily and Molly.  It looks like Molly and Lily are getting ready to have a smackdown (a regular occurrence between the two of them).

Now that the toddler is taking her please-let-it-be-a-long-one nap, I am going to do some spinning and some work on Eris.

Toodles!

  1. We have our first grandchild and believe me, payback is great! I’m toying with the idea of sending her a set of drums or a whistle! One of the great things about the Pacific Northwest is that even if it gets a little warm in the daytime, it always cools down at night. I think today was absolutely perfect!

  2. What pretty cats! I wish we could open our windows, but they’re all painted shut. All of them except the ones in the sunroom we built a few years ago, that is. I open those every chance I get.

AJ also has that cupcake shirt! You and I must spend a lot of time at Target. =)

  3. Emma is constantly unloading all her books too! I’ve given up on keeping them in any sort of order (I like books tallest-to-shortest, for some obsessive reason) and just shove them back on the shelves every evening…
