Very Cool Waterfall

I wanted to get out of the house this weekend (in spite of the rain) and I kinda wanted to go see waterfalls or something similar.  Anyway, Dana finds a link to a waterfall that is right near the house.  It is at an elevation of 300 feet and falls about 100-150 feet and apparently was created by the big mud flow mess when Mount Rainier erupted eons ago.

This brings me to a question.  If I am looking at a 300 ft. waterfall created by the Lahara (mudflow of Mt. Rainier) then why do local authorites keep telling those of us on the plateau and in the Orting valley that should that bad boy erupt we only have to get to a height of 35 feet.  Correct me if I’m wrong but…. that seems to fall a bit short of the 300 ft mudrock thingie that created this cool waterfall.  I’m just sayin…..

We drove over to Bonney Lake and found Victor Falls within about 15 mintues.  You park by the side of the road, find the little trail and you see the falls after walking less then 100 feet .   (That’s my kind of hike!).  Unfortunately, it was while gazing upon the beauty that is Victor Falls that we discovered the camera isn’t working.  I told Dana we’ll have to go back there a.s.a.p. with either another camera or when this one gets fixed.  It was just amazing to see.
