Land of the Living

We are all on the mend around here.  Thank  you to everyone for all of your well wishes.  Denise even sent me a get well card with an important announcement.

April 14th is World Grits Day.

Now, what shall we do to celebrate?????  A grit-eatin’-knit-in-public-festival?  Bring Your Grits and Bring Your Sticks….. or how about we’ll call it Grits and Sticks.  What think????

Moving on….

I thought I should catch up on the events of the past week or so.  I’ll use the term events loosely since not much occurred that wasn’t illness or healthcare related.  Anna Grace is completely well, I’m shaking off the bronchitis and Dana can’t decide what’s wrong with him and if he’s in the "catching it" stage or the "getting rid of it" stage.  A few days ago he seemed like he was trying to battle me in a game of Who’s Sicker than Who?  I nipped that in the bud by telling him I’ve got waaaaaay more cards to play than he does.  Game over.

Last Saturday when AG was so sick (or was it Sunday) Dana and I were delusional messed up and thought that if we took Anna Grace on a drive that we could get out of the house and she would probably go to sleep.  She had been fighting the whole sleep thing so I thought another little snooze would do her some good.

We headed out and drove down to the Carbon River Entrance of Mount Rainier National Park.  Anna Grace was less than pleased and refused to sleep.  So, while the scenery was pretty the ride was not peaceful and quiet.

We drove through some very cool old growth forests and followed the path of the Carbon River.  Along the way we crossed over several mountain streams that were feeders for the river.  Here’s a few photos.

Later that day (I think it was the same day) Dana took this picture of the mountain from our living room window.
