New Family Member?

We went to Seattle today after church and made some purchases.  Then we ran around like tourists.

Here’s Molly trying to hide our newest family member.

Here’s Dana helping to assemble our newest family member.

And here’s Anna Grace trying to steal the show.

The two white things she’s holding are each remote controls.  She likes to pretend they are phones (she also does this with actual phones, calculators and any remote-phone-looking-thingies-with-buttons).

Anyway, back to the new family member.  I’ve been doing my  research, etc and decided that I wanted to try a lendrum double treadle spinning wheel.  We headed up to Weaving Works and I gave the Lendrum a test drive.  I love it.  I like the looks of it.  Its tall enough for me.  I like the way it feels.  Sold!  Now she needs a name.

Up for consideration:

Lucy (the only drawback is that I always kinda saved that name for a cat.  My friend Lisa is now rolling her eyes that I am so crazy that I am saving potential cat names.  Moving on….)

Lucille

Bessie

Still thinking a bit on this one.  So meet nameless Lendrum DT spinning wheel.  Hopefully she’ll have a name soon.  I think it was almost 48 hours before Anna Grace had a name (I thought I was having a boy.  Nobody told me that I was just convinced.  So, I knew the name if I had a boy.  I simply had a selection of names if I had a girl.  Anna Grace wasn’t even on that list.)  My point is that not having a name initially doesn’t mean you’re not significant.  It simply means we  have to find the right name.

  1. Congratulations on the new family member! Nameless is ok for awhile. The right name will just come to you.
And I had a college professor who didn’t name his last daughter for several weeks after she was born. Apparently in his family tradition, you kept the kid for awhile to see what name fit.

  2. I agree with Lorette, the name will come to you and it will be fitting.

You’d better break AG of the phone habit now or watch out in about 10 yrs! ;o)

  3. I was near the U District today, and I just had to go in and check out Weaving Works. They have another spinning class coming up, and the folks in the store said there would probably be one in the summer. If I start spinning, it’s all your fault. Or, it’s thanks to you. Take your pick 😉

Oh, and what a great store! I had heard about it but had never been in. Lots of yummy yarns. I bravely walked out with nothing. Except for the class schedule–potentially the most expensive thing of all 😉
