Friday I dug around on the internet and placed an order here for some corriedale roving. I had run out of roving from my spinning class and didn’t want to get stuck. Anyway, Fiber 2 Yarn is run by a lady in Buckley and is just a few minutes from my house. We set up for me to come over and pick up my order on Saturday morning. When I got there, they have this huge, very sweet but quite huge, dog. Like a lab/rotweiller mix of some sort. Anyway, I entertained the dog while the owner got my order ready. I came one smelling like a dog which left 4 cats highly displeased.
The cats, I have discovered, are a little too fond of roving. First Chloe was in the bag and now Lily. Matter of fact I had some trouble with Lily while trying to take pictures.

Saturday afternoon we went to a local Alpaca farm. We headed over to Fair Meadows Farms which is family run. The owner, Eva, showed us around, let us feed some of the alpaca and gave us a great education on alpaca. She also had a llama there who was quite handsome. Anna Grace was a wild woman while we were there and thus, wasn’t focused enough to have the same kind of great time she did before. She did, however, get to pet the alpaca and, once again, wanted to get inside their fence, etc.
Eva sells many alpaca yarns and rovings. Some brand name (i.e. Misty Alpaca) and some from her very own animals. She even showed me some of the things she’s been knitting using fiber from her own animals. Very cool. So, as you can probably guess, I made some purchases.
Lily is also too attracted to alpaca.
This is some sock weight and lace weight alpaca.
So, its been a wonderful weekend where fiber is concerned.
LOOK AT YOU… oh, my God….
Saving spinning for another time in your life… yah! I’m falling for it…
Looks like you’ve fallen hard!
Isn’t this fun?
You’ve got to let me try your wheel… it’s only fair.
congrats!
