Dana vs. Dana

When Dana gets internet access in a few days… or weeks… and checks out this post… I’m gonna die.  So…. nice knowin’ ya….

On with the post!

The remainder of the items from our house were packed and they’re off for parts unknown.  There were a few times when Dana and the driver man were politely debating how things needed to proceed.   Now… I never witnessed any of these things and my every interaction with driver man was polite, reserved and business like.

Dana’s opinion of the driver man is different than mine.  He sees the driver man as refusing, in regards to his messed up schedule, to let it go.  Getting a little word in here or there.  A subtle word but a word none the less.

Here’s the deal:  driver man and my husband are exact personality twins.  I’m getting a lot of entertainment by watching Dana trying to handle…. er… Dana.  I did bring my observation up (politely, of course) and while he isn’t wanting to accept it I did see a light bulb go off.  I don’t think, however, that hubby was exactly pleased over my assessment.

We signed all of the closing documents today which was a bit hard.  But… it’s done now.

As many of you realize I wasn’t sure that this move was the best idea.  I thought the job for Dana was great but the timing wasn’t.  But, we proceeded.   While I wanted to get all of this over with I still have struggled with many doubts.   Each time a deal fell through on the house I thought it was an indication that we were doing the wrong thing, etc.  Each time something would happen I’d wonder if it was an indication that we were going down the wrong path.  Dana didn’t really want to consider this.  So… imagine the smirk on my face when the moving truck tried to leave and got stuck…. real stuck… in our front yard.  Dana saw me smirking and just started shaking his head.  He knew exactly what I was thinking!

It took mover man about another hour to get our of the yard and start heading for the Pacific Northwest.

  3. Could you have chosen to move any farther away? Welcome to the Pacific NW! I moved to Vancouver, BC 24 years ago from Omaha and now I love salmon.
