Packers arrived this morning and started packing. Things going fine. Our little truck driver man starts calling around to the other subcontractors, attempting to bypass United movers, and telling everyone his schedule is messed up and he needs to pack us up today. HAH! We’re not even packed. This guy did show up around noon and began packing our garage/workshop stuff. He hadn’t even finished that by dinner time. This guy is trying very hard to get Dana to sign the inventory sheet prior to the truck being packed. NOPE!. Now he’s trying to state that Dana has to sign this inventory early tomorrow morning (say it with me…. NOPE) and then he’ll finish. NOPE. The agent that has been coordinating our move has been very supportive and is instructing Dana on how to handle this man. It appears that the man’s employer is the one who has messed up his schedule… and the driver man seems to realize this as being the case…. he’s just hoping he can pressure Dana into doing whatever so that driver man’s schedule can be fixed. We don’t really care if the driver leaves early as long as everything is taken care of and we’re not signing his inventory statement until the entire truck is packed…. per United’s instructions.
Sorry for the run-on paragraphs, typepad looks quite strange on my laptop browser and I really don’t have the available brain cells for grammatically correct posts. Moving on….
Knitting…. there is some. I did some redneck engineering on the magic loop socks and Voila! they are now 2 socks on 2 circs socks. I ended up fixing my problem with a jenga set up of dpn’s and my one very long circ. I finally bailed out, got the babies hooked up on 2 circs and life has been fine ever since. I think I do prefer 2 socks on 2 circs over the Magic Loop. There isn’t quite as much fiddlin’ as there is with the Magic Loop. At this point I’m working on the gusset decreases and things have been fairly successful. Woo Hoo.
I’ll post again when I’m able. Dana rigged up a way for me to get access to blog and email. I think I should be able to post again tomorrow but no promises. Oh… while I did get internet access and I did get logged into typepad I still need a stat fix. Yep… stat’s are down. Typepad is having such issues lately. (I know… I’m pathetic).
Hang in there. Moving isn’t easy. Hugs to you both.
Kris – I heard via The Knitting Doctor that you are moving to Washington! Welcome. I think this is the most beautiful part of the country. And there are lots of knitters here to welcome you. What part of Washington are you coming to? Hope the move goes well. (Don’t let the name of my blog fool you – I was born and raised mostly in the south, but am now an official dyed in the wool Pacific Northwesterner!)
Welcome to Washington! I hope your move goes smoothly.

Ahhh..the joys of moving….we are four 1/2 short of retiring from a military career…know EXACTLY what your going through…even the most organized move is so stressful. In the end it will work out perfectly! Have a safe move…glad I found your blog from your soon-to-be Washington neighbors! (I’m in CA)
