Getting Packed

Friday the movers came and the chaos hit full speed.  The movers that showed up thought they were packing our entire house and putting it all on the truck on Friday.  We were told that some packing would occur on Friday, some crating of things on Friday, more packing on Monday and then load the truck on Tuesday.  The Friday movers were all very nice about this, they said they found out that what we were told was correct.  The crating people never arrived but they are coming tomorrow.  So with all that confusion is appears to be working out ok with one exception.

The truck driver that is picking up all of our stuff called this evening to tell us he’d be here first thing in the morning.  We went over the schedule that we’d been given.  Truck driver is convinced that we’re just confused and keeps saying that he’ll be here just in case.  We informed him that the house isn’t packed, nothing is crated, etc.  He’s not listening.  So, I expect that there will be a huge semi in my yard tomorrow for no good reason.

Other than that we’re just climbing over boxes, trying to keep all the laundry done and entertaining Anna Grace. So far she doesn’t seem too disrupted but her schedule won’t really get messed up until tomorrow.

I haven’t been getting much knitting done.  The most time I’ve spent with yarn is the time it took me to pack up my knitting bag and get supplies together for some projects (mainly socks).

Dana is going to take down the computer tonight so I am not sure when I’ll be able to post again.  He did get a data cable to post via our cell phones but said that it didn’t work well.  We’ll see.  I’ll try to post and check email as often as possible.

Toodles.

  1. Just don’t let them pack any of your works in progress. Or the baby, don’t forget to keep her out of the packing boxes. When we moved here from Texas, I ended up in the hospital that week (sick, not working), and wasn’t home when the packing took place. I had nightmares that the cats ended up in packing boxes on the semi.
Your library might have computers that you can post from. If not, we’ll see you on the flip side. Make sure you bring your hip-waders. It’s done nothing but rain here for months. Have a safe journey!
