Football Rambling

Oh come on… it’s bowl week… you knew this post was comin’!  But, after this week my posts will likely be somewhat football free.

I’m mainly waiting for the Orange Bowl and the Rose Bowl this year.    That said, today was a wonderful blend of knitting, diet coke and football.  Dana and I watched the Outback Bowl (formerly the Hall of Fame Bowl) and Dana enjoyed it while I feel Iowa got robbed.  As you can probably guess, Dana had a good time because UF was playing and they won.  The last quarter was the best… but Iowa got robbed.

Tomorrow we have the Orange Bowl  and a match up of the two "winningest" coaches in all of college ball:  Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno.  FSU plays Penn State and I’m not thinking FSU is going to win this thing but we’ll see.  I’m so glad that FSU got to an actual BCS bowl (unlike UF and Miami that just got to a wannabe Bowl… heh heh heh) but I hope that this doesn’t stop folks for calling for the head of Jeff Bowden.  That guy’s gotta go.  This will probably be obvious by this time tomorrow night.

And finally… the National Championship which will be the Rose Bowl this year.  I think this is going to be one of the greatest match ups for a national title that we’ve had in a long time.  I am looking forward to this one.  I hate it when the national title is a blow out.  I have high hopes that this will be a great game.  Football… knitting… diet coke…. can’t wait!

Finally ( look away Debi ) something beautiful happened the other day when LSU and Miami met at the Peach Bowl.  Y’all know I hate Miami.  And… I love nothing more than to see Miami lose.  Well… I like one thing more… to see Miami get slaughtered.  This loss was so bad that heads are rolling in south Florida, coaches are being fired, you get the picture (why oh why can’t that happen in Tallahassee????? You only gotta fire one guy…. just one).

Anyway… back to Miami’s humiliating loss….

Peach Bowl results:
LSU 40
Miami 3

Makes me smile just typing the numbers!  heh heh heh
