1. Choosing Christmas songs for the kids at church to sing. Considering my usual lack of Christmas spirit, this is one holiday task that I pretty much enjoy. I like hearing all the different versions of traditional carols that have been recorded and then I like to hear new songs too. BUT… having to listen to really, really bad versions of carols…not my idea of a good time.
2. Choosing to not freak out over the news that some jungle rot stomach virus is encircling AG’s school and pinging off kids at a rapid rate. Choosing to decide that we’re immune. You have your denial, I have mine.
3. Choosing paint color for the house. Yellow and green were eliminated post haste. The other two colors were then tested out on the other sides of the house as well. In other words, this house has looked awful for years, hadn’t been maintained and the poor neighbors have begged for mercy. BUT… before it can be fixed, we are making sure they endure the site of little color blocks on all sides of the house. For like 2 weeks. Doncha wished ya lived next door????
4. Choosing to be a grown up and deal with the ankle that can’t be denied. Yesterday’s run resulted in me limping again but… limp did not resolve by this morning. Calling Dr. Guru in the tomorrow. (That’s right people. We actually have a guy in town named Dr. Guru.)
5. Trying to choose to not be a grump about Christmas but I think I may have already missed the boat on that one. Oh well.
Hope y’all had a great weekend.
Yeah, I’m just a grump about Christmas in general. I’ve just about had it with the commercialism of it all. We’ve scaled back on the gift-giving insanity in the past few years, and it makes it all much more of what it should be.
We painted our house sage green so the moss doesn’t show so much.
Good luck with the jungle rot…
