Last night I cast on for sleeve #2 of Dana’s gift sweater and so far, no problems. I did find that I had two partial skeins in addition to 2 full skeins of this yarn so I don’t think I’ll run out afterall. I’m about 4 inches along and have a ways to go. (I would post a picture but that would require me moving my rump out of this chair and I’m not in the mood. ) I’m hoping I can finish up soon so that I can get this thing washed, blocked and finished.
The pattern for Dana’s sweater is Leo and he seems to like it pretty well. I just wish I had been able to complete it prior to his birthday but that’s life.
Speaking of Dana…. he’s still home. He was supposed to leave today and head for Atlanta. There he would change planes and then get to Seattle around 11 tonight. But… there were weather problems in Atlanta. So first Orbitz called him to tell him that his Atlanta flight would be late. Then Orbitz called to tell him his Orlando flight was late. So late, in fact, that he would now miss his delayed Atlanta flight. There were lots of negotiations back and forth and it came down to this:
Dana could leave tonight and get stuck in Atlanta for a few days or…..
Dana could leave early tomorrow morning and head for D.C. and hope he can get on a 5 p.m. flight to Seattle (which looked unlikely) or….
Dana could leave early Wednesday morning and head for Salt Lake City. Then catch an early flight from Salt Lake to Seattle.
Dana chose option 3. And if he can’t get a flight out of Salt Lake, he’s at least close enough that he could just drive the rest of the way and be in Seattle in a day or so. Thankfully Dana’s boss was very kind about all of this. Dana has been quite fortunate. With all of the flying back and forth he’s had next to no delays and he hasn’t missed any flights or connections. We get to spend another day with Dana and Hampy offered to get up at the crack of dawn on Wednesday to haul Dana to the airport so AG and I won’t have to. Thank God for Hampy!!!!!!!!!
