House Update

So here’s the latest.

The buyer still hasn’t decreased the price on her house and, shock of shocks, it still hasn’t sold.  (Imagine that!).  There is no way she’ll be able to close on our house on the 10th but if she had a firm sales contract on her home by then I would, of course, extend her closing date.  At this point if she wants to re-negotiate Dana and I will be adding clauses in the contract that will specify her house being priced at or below market value (what she said she was going to do in the first place) and parameters for when her price must be decreased.  We normally wouldn’t be so pushy but this lady has insisted that we take our house off the market as part of the contract.  When it was Christmas time that was one thing but I’m not taking my house of the market indefinitely while she keeps her house over priced.  Afterall, we can’t be doing this forever.

But… the buyer now has another plan.

She wants to see if she can get approved for a mortgage on our house without selling hers.  She says her soon-to-be-ex is willing to pay the mortgage on their house and let her just pay this mortgage.  I don’t know what their arrangement is…. nor do I care to get involved… but I’m not sure she is going to qualify for this mortgage without selling her house.  That said… if she does and she alters her contract with us, then that works out great for our family.  So… I’m a little bit hopeful.  Only a little bit.  Cautiously optimistic is the best description.

Per our realtor, we should know something by Wednesday regarding whether or not this little plan of hers worked.  If not, I have another plan.  GET REAL AND LOWER THE PRICE OF YOUR HOUSE, LADY!!!!!!

I’m just sayin’ is all.
