Tonight we headed to the Volusia county fair. Had a great time mocking signs, eating many fried things, hanging out with friends, eating more fried things and….taking really awful pictures. Bad photography: one of my many talents.
There were these cool things in little window lookie-loo boxes that were built for the 1939 Worlds Fair. We, the adults, were quite entertained by them. The kids…not so much. BTW… moving parts in the background. Ooooh. Aaaaah.
Small children who refuse to stay still, smile or cooperate with photography attempts in any way, greatly enjoyed model train exhibit.
Model train exhibit was complete with a Twistee Treat. Classy!
The fair was full of lots and lots of health food. Pork Chop…. On-a-Stick. NICE!
And there was some “high class” fare as well!!
Many fried foods were available such as…. the fried twinkie! Can you say “awesome”???!!!!!
And there were men….manly men….eating funnel cake.
A certain little man did all he could to be a good sport and he held out until the very end before he really decided that his entire family was crazy and he just needed to cry about it. But once he got a little milk, a few snuggles, he decided to accept his lot in life and just smile on anyway.
And finally… after much sugar… and rides… and excitement….. the children were thoroughly jacked up.
And so we tried to take them home. But not before capturing this wonderful photograph that will forever be used to chase boys away from Anna Grace. Afterall, it isn’t everyday that you actually get photo evidence of “the crazy”.
We had a blast, kids had a blast, our cardiologists will thank us in the not too distant future and we all left with a healthy dose of indigestion. Totally worth it!
Man, much posting has gone on since I checked you last! Check out the cool dudes in the leather jackets!
