I finished the knitting portion of the shawl/wrap using the Manos del Uraguay. I used three skeins and started from the bottom point and moved up using stockinette stitch with a garter stitch border. I need to block it, weave in ends and add some tassels to provide weight for the bottom (curl prevention).
Here’s the pre-blocking photos
This will be my first attempt at using blocking wires. Debi told me about the joys of blocking wires a few weeks back and I ordered them immediately. They arrived the other day and now I’m getting ready to put them to work…. as soon as I clean out the extra bedroom… put all the holiday wrapping stuff away… clear off the extra bed… make some space… blah blah blah. In other words, it’ll be a few days!
Now to cast on sleeve #2 of Dana’s sweater so we can get that finished up.
Toodles.
Looks great Kris!! Simple and Classic
It’s really pretty Kris–you and the shawl. Haven’t tried blocking wires but have heard good things about them. Good luck with the house business–I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
The shawl looks great- it’s a nice size, and looks very snuggly. Not to mention a great color!
