We’ve had an active few weeks around here. We bought a house, planned/attended my grandfather’s funeral, put a roof on the house, have progressively slowed down due to my expanding girth and – in general – have just been enjoying our life. How about a listy list?
1. My mother arrived, eventually, and we drove back and forth to Tallahassee in one day in order to attend my grandfather’s funeral. She had her original flights canceled due to the snowstorm that hit western NC so, she was only here for a day or so.
2. We closed on the house and probably had one of the most bizarre closing experiences that we have ever had with any house we’ve ever owned. That story is a post all on its own. But… at the end of the day we were just standing around laughing ourselves silly over all the ridiculous maneuvering and thankful that God had provided us with a home…. a home we never thought we’d be able to afford and never thought would be priced within a range where it was actually within our grasp. Happy happy joy joy
3. Anna Grace informed my mother that “Lily went to live with Jesus and Chloe went to live with Jesus. And Great Grandma also went to live with Jesus because she likes cats. But Rover didn’t go live with Jesus. My mother banished him to the backyard.” Where… WHERE… does this kid come up with this stuff!!!!!
4. We enjoyed spending time at the Mount Dora Art Festival. We had a really nice day and… BONUS… there were funnel cakes. Woot!!!

We enjoyed the music and the displays and…. did I mention that they had funnel cakes???? Yes… I know I’m in the middle of another one of my diabetes testing trials but seriously… you don’t get in between me and a funnel cake. You especially don’t get in between a pregnant me and a funnel cake. Seriously!!
5. Dana got a remote control airplane for Christmas and we took it out for another spin. Why is it always freezing when we try to fly this thing???? He flew it once, it dived and had a minor injury. All was well and he tried again.

Lets just say that after this picture was taken an incident occurred and super glue surgical procedures will now be required.
6. My baby girl…. my BABY…. lost her first tooth.
Anna Grace…shy of one tooth
I guess she isn’t a baby anymore.
She was very excited this morning to see the results of her monetary transactions with the Tooth Fairy. Very, very excited!!
7. I finished the Citron shawl. It is now on the blocking board.
Citron: Pre-blocking
So, for those of you keeping track of the 10 in 2010 KAL…. one down, nine to go.
8. The other day Dana read the portion of the January newsletter where I said I may have been a little delusional to commit to knit 10 shawls in 2010. His response? “Delusional? Delusional? More like One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest!”
I can’t exactly argue with that.
9. I started knitting Bitterroot and really like the pattern.

I am using Miss Babs Yummy Sock in the color Forest Afternoon.
10. This past week was our 3 year anniversary at Sonny & Shear. To celebrate we are having sales all through the month of February. New sales will be posted here on the blog and on the Ravelry group on Fridays. This week’s sale is 25% off of all roving when you use the code TwirlySheep at the time of checkout. Coupon expires on Wednesday.
Well….that’s all that is going on around here. What’s happenin’ at your place???
Lovelly shawls! I have both of those in my queue! Congratulations on your new house.
Just wanted to say hello and say I’m glad you got the house thing settled! btw, excited about the Tosh yarn too. Now if I can just get some $$ together!!!
Yippee, a house for you! Looking forward to hearing the closing story. Awwww, the first tooth – such an important event.
