There’s a meme thingy going around where you list like 10 things folks might not know about you.  Well, if I were to complete that one thing I would likely list was my junior high addiction/abuse.

I had a serious Rick Springfield problem.

It has seeped into adulthood at times.  I remember having dinner with friends one night when the song Jessie’s Girl was discussed…. which led into a where is he now?…. remember this album?… blah blah blah when I added to one of the album discussions that this partcular one went platinum or something.

Dead Silence.

People staring at me.

People laughing.

People acting like I suddenly sprouted a third head.

I was  then interrogated about what other Rick Springfied factoids I may have stashed in my little brain… and then it came out.  I know the name of every movie…every (pre-1990’s) album and most of their stats… the name of the Battlestar Galactica character…. the name of the cartoon…. the awards won…and of course… Noah Drake.

Rick Springfield played Noah Drake on General Hospital.  I also had a serious General Hospital problem until I was like a junior in high school.  Well… years later I gave up soap operas and now think they are so silly when I see just a piece of one.  But… I may need to start working on my General Hospital viewing skills because Noah Drake is coming back.

I was watching the Today show this morning and Rick Springfield is on there collecting gifts and then he announces that he’s going back to General Hospital.  As Dr. Noah Drake (apparently Dr. Drake has  fell on hard times and has a drinking problem… Oh come on it’s getting stupid already) I about fell out.

Maybe I’ll give GH a shot with the TIVO.  Love the fact that stupid shows can be shortened from one hour to fifteen minutes thanks to the T-Man.  Love my TIVO.
