Good day.
I spent the morning doing a bit of cooking and complaining loudly about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. (i.e. Is this a parade or a lip sync fest…. when I was a kid this was actually a parade…. who runs this thing now? the record executives…. I’m sick of this…. I want to see a parade…. ). Dana has been put thru this tyrade now for three or four years. But seriously folks… can we please have the parade back? Should we look up the definition of PARADE? Macy’s parade… tradition in this family. Anna Grace’s tradition? Listen to mom gripe about Macy’s parade.
Lets unite the knitbloggers to all post about that stupid parade and see if it will then *poof* be a parade again. I only have like 9 subcribers… I’m sure Macy’s is just shakin in their boots!
Anyway… where was I? Oh yeah… parade and cooking. I made my grandmother’s candied sweet potato recipe which is one of those things where she doesn’t really give you the recipe. "do this until it looks kinda right… well sometimes I cook it at this temperature and sometimes I cook it at that temperature…. well this is how I do it but it has never tasted the same since your grandpap got rid of my gas oven and left me with the electric one…. etc etc etc".
So, as usual, I was eyeballing the stuff, decided too late that there was too much water and started bailing some of it out. This too… Thanksgiving day tradition.
We went to Hammy and Hampy’s for Thanksgiving dinner. I don’t have any photos because Dana was using the movie camera the whole time. We had a great time visiting and laughing with friends and AG wore herself out. She skipped her nap that day but never cared once. The kid was almost begging us to put her to bed that night.
Great day!!!!
