This is the second year that I’ve done this and I just love it. Operation Christmas Child is an outreach of Samaritan’s Purse . Donors fill a shoe box (or shoe box sized bin) with clothing, toys, school supplies, etc that are specific to a girl or boy in a certain age range. The shoeboxes are sent all over the world so kids worldwide can have a Christmas gift. Last year I filled a box for a girl age 2-4. This year my box is for a girl age 5 to 9.
Paints, crayons and drawing paper
Toys
Sweater, socks and hair barretts.
Packed and ready to go.
I can’t wait to be able to do this each year with Anna Grace and help her to have a giving attitude toward Christmas. I know that participating in this has really helped me to keep my focus during the holidays. If you haven’t participated, there’s still time. It only takes a little bit of time, you can print a label and info off their website and there are drop off sites all across the country this week. If you can’t do so this year, think about putting together a shoebox next year. I think it blesses me as much as any of the recipients.
