I know, haven’t posted in a bit. I got sick last week….the annual summer “cold”…. and as a result I cancelled our vacation. Then I started feeling better so we made plans to go to the beach for a day or two. And then I immediately got round 2 of the annual summer “cold”. So, I decided that I could take a hint and we cancelled the trip to the beach, stayed home and just caught up with life.
While I’ve been home, resting, etc I have been doing lots of knitting and I have made great progress on a sweater project. I’ll take pictures tomorrow. Pinky swear.
In other news, I forwarded my mother a news item about some new papers, interviews, etc that were being released by Bob Dylan. My mother is a huge fan but really set that aside while she was married to SF. Since SF passed away my mother has been getting back into her music etc. Well, she followed some links and learned that Bob Dylan is going to be on tour during the month of August and he’s only going to a very limited number of citites. None of those cities are anywhere close to where either of us live.
My mother got herself all excited and decided that come heck or high water…she was goin’ to a Bob Dylan concert. But since she didn’t want to go alone, she called me and asked me to go and offered to buy my ticket, my plane fare, everything. Well…my momma didn’t raise no fool so I said yes and now the 2 of us are going to see Bob Dylan in upstate New York on August 19.
This should be a total hoot!
I hope you are feeling better! How fun that you Mom is taking you to the concert – hope you have a great time!
Jealous! I love Bob Dylan! I was really impressed with his cd Modern Times. I read somewhere that he said the band he made the cd with was the best he’d ever been in & worked with. And for someone like him to say something like that, well, the statement really spoke to me – and he’s not one for hyperbole. He’s led quite a life & worked with so many different bands/musicians! And one of my other favorites, Neil Diamond, recently replaced him on the Billboard charts as the oldest living person to have an album enter at #1. I’m like a personal Wikipedia this morning, so I’ll stop.
awesome!!
COOLEST.MOM.EVER! What fun!
Hope you’re feeling better soon. Any cold is awful, but you just shouldn’t have to get them in the summer, especially when you’re supposed to be on vacation.
I’m very envious of the Dylan tickets!
