Grits ‘n Sticks 2008

March 30th, 2008

It is that time of year again.

April 14 is World Grits Day and that means that it is time for the 3rd Annual Grits ‘n Sticks contest.

How do you participate?

Between April 1 and midnight (EST) on April 14 you need to take a photo of your knitting/crochet work in progress, in still life, with a bowl of grits. Be as creative as you would like. I am not very creative with mine but others have been quite creative.

Once you take your photo you post the photo on your blog and then send me an email to contestATsonnyandshearDOTcom with the link to your entry.

If you don’t have a blog, you can post your entry on our Ravelry group (Sonny & Shear Backstage Pass).

And if you aren’t on Ravelry, email me the photo along with your name and such and I’ll post the photo for you and get you entered in the contest.

So…. what do you win?????

Grits ‘n Sticks Champion: Most Creative Entry. (Winner receives a $50.00 gift certificate to the yarn shop.)

The Grits Lover’s Prize: Randomnly selected from all the entries. (Winner receives a skein of Dream in Color Smooshy or Dream in Color Baby in the (in stock) color of their choice.

So get your grits and get your sticks and lets see those entries.

As in other years, if you are one of our northern and/or international readers, you may substitute Cream of Wheat.  International readers can also substitute the closest thing you can come up with.  We’re flexible.  You will be living a deprived life without the Joy of Grits but we have made this concession in the past and are doing so again this year.

So…. get hoppin’ and show me your grits!!!!!
